Inner City Health Strategy
The Inner City Health Strategy Working Group is a group of community organizations, advocates and researchers who have joined together under the auspices of Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre to develop a strategy for addressing inner city health inequity and injustice with a focus on poverty and racism as the key co-determinants of health.
The objectives of the Inner City Health Strategy Working Group may be summarized as:
- Influencing the development and implementation of an Inner City Health Strategy,
through the framework of poverty and racism as co-determinants of health
- Make policy connections between poverty, racism and health using the social
determinants of health as a guide and influencing public policy or making recommendations for change based on the analysis of these connections
- Actively and continuously seeking input from those with lived experience of poverty
and racism
