The Inner City Health Strategy Working Group is a group of community organizations, advocates and researchers who have joined together under the auspices of Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre to develop a strategy for addressing inner city health inequity and injustice with a focus on poverty and racism as the key co-determinants of health.
The objectives of the Inner City Health Strategy Working Group may be summarized as:
Influencing the development and implementation of an Inner City Health Strategy, through the framework of poverty and racism as co-determinants of health
Make policy connections between poverty, racism and health using the social determinants of health as a guide and influencing public policy or making recommendations for change based on the analysis of these connections
Actively and continuously seeking input from those with lived experience of poverty and racism
